2. What differentiates a PHEV from a conventional hybrid?

4. Is the Outlander PHEV better for the environment?
When using EV mode, the Outlander PHEV offers eco-friendly driving with power coming exclusively from the lithium-ion main drive battery. While running on 100% electric power, it produces zero tailpipe emissions resulting in a low environmental impact.



5. How and where do I recharge my Outlander PHEV?
At home, you can charge the Outlander PHEV using a standard 120V household outlet (Level 1 charging) or a professionally installed 240V charging station (Level 2 charging).



On the go, you can power up at a 240V public charging station (Level 2) or at a quick DC quick-charging station.



6. How long does it take to charge the Outlander PHEV?
Approximately 16 hours to fully charge with Level 1 through a standard 120V 12A outlet, and approximately 6.5 hours with a dedicated Level 2 240V 15A charger.



DC quick charging charges the battery up to 80% capacity in 38 minutes.


7. What's the difference between Level 1 and Level 2 charging and DC Quick Charging?

Level 1 uses 120V while Level 2 uses 240V to cut the charge time to less than half.

8. Can all electric vehicles use the same type of charger?
The Outlander PHEV can use Level 1 and 2 charging plus DC quick charging. Level 1 and 2 are standardized charging, and DC quick charging varies between charging stations.



The Outlander PHEV is compatible with charging stations using the CHAdeMO standard.



9. What is the range of the Outlander PHEV's EV Mode?
The Outlander PHEV can travel up to 61km in pure EV Mode. However, range depends upon usage and situations.



10. Does it need gas?
Yes, the Outlander PHEV needs gas, but not until you require additional power or the energy from the main drive battery is all used up.
